comic1.gif (2507 bytes) The Buddha says:

When you commit evil,
you have to suffer for it.
Only you can clean out your evil,
and only you can save yourself from your suffering.
Whether you are pure or impure is entirely up to you.
No one else can make you unclean.

comic3.gif (16519 bytes)We ourselves create both the good and evil in life. Among all living things, people are the most dreadful and yet the most lovable.

Wherever there is a good heart, there is good fortune. Wherever there is commitment, there is power.

We plant our own good fortune and read the harvest.

We may suffer now, but it will end and joy will come. We may enjoy ourselves now, but if will end and misfortune will come.

What is the meaning of becoming a nun or a monk?

The most important meaning of religious life is to learn the Buddha’s spirit of compassion and to help others without asking for anything in return. It is not just a matter of living in a monastery. It would be better to stay at home and cultivate your spirituality through your daily dealings in the world.
