The Light Doesn't Shine
By Masters Te Yu and Te Mao
Translated by Christine Ho

A typhoon broke a light on a walkway at the Abode of Still Thoughts.
The first day, the Master came and looked at it.
The second day, she came and looked at it again.
The third day, she did the same again and then sighed deeply.
The fourth day, the Master said to one of her disciples, "Bring a ladder here. Climb up and replace that light."
Such a simple action could let people walk safe and unhindered in the light.
Why do we so often waste the chance to cultivate good fortune and merit?
