Tzu Chi has walked 30 years on a road paved with love. Therefore, "30" is used as the main structure of the logo. The 30 horizontal bars stand for the number of years that have passed.

On the left side is the globe that we live on. The light of love projected from Taiwan spreads to the whole world and even to outer space, signifying that the minds of Tzu Chi members are broad enough to accommodate the whole universe. On the right side are Tzu Chi's lotus flower and dharma ship. The lotus flower symbolizes Buddhist purity rising above this world, just like the lotus flower rises out of the muck and mire of the swamp. The ship is a symbol that when we help people who are suffering from illness and proverty, we carry them away to a place of peade and joy. The logo indicates that Tzu Chi grows from contentment, gratitude, understanding and accommodation and will carry out in its compassionate missions forever.
