STILL THOUGHTS
The Cartoon Version
Translated by E E Ho and W.L. Rathje
Drawings by Tsai Chih-chung; coloring by May E. Gu

The Buddha says:

The thief called "worry" is always looking
for a chance to steal our serenity!
Worry is also like a poisonous snake
hiding in our house.
Unless we get rid of it,
we will never sleep in peace
even in our own home.

Worry is like a poisonous snake that sleeps in your heart. Whenever it is aroused, it will bite you.

Spiritual cultivation requires that we get rid of the worries and delusions in our minds. Only then will we be able to cultivate our spirituality in peace.

Tzu Chi's accomplishments in helping the poor are well known. Would you say more about Tzu Chi's concept of "educating the rich," which is not clear to many outsiders?

Helping the poor and educating the rich are the two goals of Tzu Chi. These two principles run side by side. It is through helping the poor that we educate the rich.
