STILL THOUGHTS
The Cartoon Version
Translated by E E Ho and W.L. Rathje
Drawings by Tsai Chih-chung; coloring by May E. Gu

The Buddha says:

I have no teacher.
I am just myself.
Thus I am honored as the highest teacher.

Some people think the Buddha is a god. This is wrong. We should think of him as a saint, not as a deity. He is really and truly a full human being.

He is extraordinarily wise, and he has the highest standards of character and behavior.

I don't believe there is any love in this world.

You yourself have given up on love--you won't love others and you don't want to be loved--so how can you feel love at all?
