On May 8, 2005, the foundation's fifth hospital was formally inaugurated. Over
8,000 Tzu Chi members from Taiwan and 20 other countries attended the ceremony.
The Xindian Tzu Chi Hospital, with 600 beds and 30 departments could not have
been completed without the help and support of countless kind-hearted people
both within and outside Taiwan.
