After being briefed by Tzu Chi volunteers on the situation in earthquake-ravaged Sumatra, Indonesia, Master Cheng Yen said that since all lives on earth are closely intertwined, we should not think that a disaster occurring in a distant place does not concern us. We should stay alert and be prepared for danger in times of peace.
