STILL THOUGHTS
The Cartoon Version
Translated by E E Ho and W.L. Rathje
Drawings by Tsai Chih-chung; coloring by May E. Gu
The Buddha says:

Suffering,
the origin of suffering,
the end of suffering,
and the way to end suffering,
all exist in you.

An unenlightened person is constantly pushed around by his karma. Although he knows how much he hurts, he still keeps digging deeper and deeper into his suffering.

A saint treats suffering as a normal part of life. He accepts it cheerfully and allows it to run its course. In this way, his positive attitude can transform the bad karma from his previous lives.

Life--Death

Cause of suffering

Result of suffering

Tzu Chi routinely does things that our government has never been able to do. Is this because the foundation has so many people and so much money?

The major reason is that over a long time, Tzu Chi has built up an image of sincerity and integrity. We have won the trust and support of people both locally and abroad. This affirmation makes us dedicate ourselves to charity work even more conscientiously. We will never disappoint people's trust in us.
