STILL THOUGHTS
The Cartoon Version
Translated by E E Ho and W.L. Rathje

The Buddha says:

For those who cannot sleep,
the night is endless.
For those who are tired,
the road is endless.
For those who do not know the dharma,
confusion is endless.

If you can relax, your mind will naturally calm down. Breathing quietly and cultivating your mind will keep evil away. This so-called "evil" is actually the evil in your mind. Outside of your mind, there is no evil.

Religion should have the proper beliefs. Do not be confused by superstitions that require blind faith and offer no true teachings.

All religions aim to raise people's consciousness. Churches and temples are schools for learning about life.

Buddhists don't say that people "convert" to Buddhism, but that they "find refuge" in it. What does "find refuge" mean?

It means finding a place where you can transform darkness into light, rid your mind of delusion, and approach the purity and brilliance of the saints. If you have a religious refuge, you will find a direction in your life and you will never get lost.
