The movement to protect water in southern Taiwan has helped people to realize
the water resource problems they are facing. What Kaohsiung lacks is clean
water. Thanks to the pollution in local rivers, the bottled drinking water
business is booming in Kaohsiung. Old water stations like the one in the above
picture are dwindling, but the water-selling industry is thriving in the city.
