STILL THOUGHTS
The Cartoon Version
Let go

Only when we let go of something can we get something else. If we are too greedy, we may not get anything at all. Many people suffer because they want things that they cannot possibly have.

When we let go of our worries, we can have kindness and compassion, and then we will be filled with joy.

We heard that when you first met Venerable Master Yin Shun, his only words to you were, "For Buddhism, for all living beings."

When I met Master Yin Shun, it was close to noontime and the admissions for the initiation ceremony were about to close. There was really no time for any further guidance. Therefore, my Venerable Master only gave me the following teaching: "If you want me to be your mentor, then you must always work for Buddhism and for all living beings." Ever since then, these words have been deeply engraved in my heart.
