Manka Lungshan Temple
--Front Hall
The flagstones in the front hall of the Manka Lungshan Temple were all imported from China a long time ago. At that time, the Taiwanese shipped their agricultural products, such as rice, to China and brought back commodities, such as silk, that were light in weight compared to the agricultural products. So they also transported stones which could serve as ballast for the ships. These stones would then be sold to temples or rich families to be used as building materials. Good quality stones would be used for stone carving.
