The Taipei Confucian Temple
--Confucian Ceremony

Every year on September 28, the Confucian Ceremony starts at 5:30 a.m. at the Taipei Confucian Temple. Performers who participate in the ceremony include dancers and musicians who are of elementary school age. Traditionally, sixty-four dancers lined up in eight rows to perform the "eight-row dance" during the ceremony. However, due to insufficient space, a "six-row dance" is performed nowadays at the temple. The dancers wear yellow robes and musicians dark purple ones. The whole ceremony lasts about one hour.
