Horiuchi Tsuguo

Founder of Medical Education in Taiwan
Seeing the substandard state Taiwan's sanitation and medicine, Horiuchi decided
to contribute his medical knowledge to the country after retiring from military
service in Taiwan. He played an important role in Taiwan's medical education
during his fifty years on the island. An open-minded educator, he supported the
students' anti-Japan movements.
