Miao costumes are elaborate in style and delicate in design. Because the art of
making these costumes and the proper ways of wearing them are still well
preserved among the Miao people, UNESCO designated the Miao nationality as a
World Heritage culture and recognized the places inhabited by the Miao ethnic
group as eco-museums.
