Tzu Chi members lead group activities at Tersane Elementary School. Since the earthquake, all the students from neighboring disaster areas have attended classes here. To accommodate the sudden increase of students, Tersane, never a big school, divided the students into morning and afternoon shifts. Watching the students sing and dance with the Tzu Chi people, one of the schoolteachers asked how she might become a member. On being asked what her feelings toward the organization were, she pointed to the students and said, "There is no need to ask me--you can tell just by looking at the children!"
