In a government granary in Nazret, workers load bags of grain for transport to disaster areas. In order to combat the disaster caused by the drought in Ethiopia, the UN estimates that it must spend at least US$200 million to purchase food, medical supplies and other emergency supplies. Currently, each Ethiopian drought victim can receive 12.5 kilograms of food every month. Food donations from foreign countries are collected at large granaries first and are then distributed to victims.
